2023 NPLL Board of Directors Elections

It's that time of year again!  We are looking to fill some very important roles within our Board of Directors.  

Are you tech savvy?  Run for our information officer position! 
Work as an electrician, in construction, or plumbing?  Our maintenance position would be perfect fit for you!
Are you an accountant or knowledgeable in bookkeeping?  Then treasurer is the role for you!
Do spreadsheets make you weak in the knees?  Get your excel geek on as our player agent!
Is softball life? Our softball program needs you to bring your softball knowledge and leadership skills.  

Oh captain, my captain!  Our beloved president will be stepping back in the 2023 season.  We are searching for a new head of our ship.

These volunteers play a vital role in how our program runs year to year.  If you would like to see change, have your voice heard, and help continue to grow and improve NPLL, we have a spot just for you!

President:
1 District meeting a month
1 Board meeting to run a month
Purchase charters and insurance for league
Completes league background checks
Order equipment and supplies
Works with treasurer to prepare an annual budget
Directs league at field clean ups
Create league/District schedules
Ensures all areas of the league operates properly
All Star game staffing
Direct over fall program

VP:
Fills in for the president at district meetings or board meetings when needed
Holds chair of all league committees.
Admin of league uniforms. order, pick up and disbursement of uniforms.
Admin of little league days or finds coverage for at the high school

Player Agent:
Registration management
Needs a working knowledge of excel or numbers and sports connect
Answer emails from parents about questions they may have registering
Checks League email
Identify how many teams we will field
Assist President if finding managers.
Admin leagues drafts
Adds teams to the site and sends rosters to managers
Admin Major tryouts/ All Star tryouts
Admin for the completion and approval of all star tournament forms
Manages Fall-ball registration and formation of fall teams

VP of Baseball and Softball:
Directs major tryouts in the spring and all star tryouts in the summer.
Helps direct workers at field clean up
Will work with league president and equipment manager on the needs of the league. i.e.
adequate supplies, tools or equipment to run the league.
Keeps a master schedule of rescheduled games.
Will be lead official/POC for managers on any operational needs they may have.
Will need an investment from league VP’s to build a strong competitive program through training
and clinics etc. Divisions will be yours to run and manage
Directs the completion of fall clean up

Treasurer:
Prepare annual tax returns
Check mail weekly
Pay league bills
Keep league ledger of accounts and copies of payment receipts
Keep board of directors informed of monthly account balances at board meetings
Creates invoices, W/9’s as needed for sponsors or employees

Secretary:
Keeps meeting minutes
Brings copy of previous meeting minutes to current meeting
Coordinates meeting places and times
Answers league emails or forwards to the correct board members to be addressed
Keeps members informed of league events
Assists president on staffing of league events
Updates the google drive with new board members information each year
Sets up league GroupMe for all board members
Coordinates the printing and pick up of league fliers
Presides over league election in the fall until a president is elected and in place

Information management:
Makes league posts to Facebook
Sends out league emails
Responds/Answers Facebook messages the league receives
Sets permissions for sports connect annually
Builds league registration site annually
Builds league fall ball registration
Creates fliers and online advertisements

Maintenance:
General maintenance and repairs for main park and senior field.
Subcontracts jobs when needed.
Supplies league board quotes for repairs
Ensures all league equipment is serviced and working properly.
Keeps league garage in order and clean

Sponsors/Banners:
Contact previous year sponsors to find return sponsors
Keep official record of all sponsors and contacts on the league google drive
Act as POC for all sponsors
Work with player agent of number of potential teams to ensure we have enough sponsors for
the year
Order league banners
Hang league banners on corresponding fields
Remove and store banners at end of year

Fundraising:
POC for fundraising events and activities 
Prepare fundraiser flier for disbursement 
Ensure we have enough tickets and envelopes for raffle
Stuff envelops with tickets to ensure each player gets a packet of 10
Make team packets for disbursement at Manger meeting in March
Work with Info manager in reminding parents, managers and players of raffle dates
Acquires 5 gift cards for the top 5 winners
Performs raffle on Facebook live
Contacts winners
Helps winners coordinate with the Bradshaws for pick up

Safety:
Updates ASAP plan.
Gives Safety brief to managers at managers meeting
Is POC in the event of any injuries
Files the appropriate paperwork when injuries occurs

Concession director:
Ensures concession manager has what she/he needs to operate the concession
Opens concession in the spring and ensures all components are cleaned
Keep inventory on food/drinks
Purchase food from Sam’s, GFS and Amazon
Works with league president on scheduling for the concession workers
Keeps track of all concession workers and writes checks to workers weekly
Keeps an umpire log and writes checks to umps
Works with NPLL maintenance on any concession repairs needed.

Equipment:
Meets at concession garage in the spring to inventory equipment
Divide equipment to the number of teams the league fields
Works with league president for any equipment needs
Ensures all managers have the equipment they need to manage a team.
Keeps inventory on balls and equipment resources
Acquires equipment back from league managers at the end of the season, ensures all is
accounted for
Gives league president end of year inventory on game balls remaining

Pictures:
Works as POC with Pam to facilitate league photos
Gives Photographer notice of our planned picture dates
Works with league president on leagues schedules to create a league picture schedule
When pictures arrive, works with managers to ensure all pictures are picked up from the
concession to managers
When sponsor plaques come in, ensure all plaques are either mailed or handed back to
sponsors

All Board Members:
Help distribute fliers to schools
Participate/direct spring field clean up
Participate/direct fall field clean up
Attend board meetings
Help facilitate league needs during all stars
